Synopsys expands autonomous engineering tools with AgentEngineer portfolio

Synopsys ($SNPS) introduced AgentEngineer, a portfolio of specialized AI agents intended to plan and execute engineering workflows spanning chip verification, implementation, manufacturing and systems simulation. The products run on its Autopilot platform, which combines workflow orchestration, persistent memory, technical context and security controls. More than 50 customer engagements are underway, with general availability targeted for year-end rather than already achieved.

The broader portfolio extends the company’s move from individual AI-assisted tasks toward integrated engineering automation. Fujitsu reported productivity improvements of 10%–30% in RTL code generation using the verification capabilities. Those customer observations are not guaranteed results for every deployment. Synopsys did not attach a revenue forecast or quantified bookings to the launch, so the commercial opportunity depends on converting engagements into adoption and demonstrating reliable improvements in production design environments.
