Standard Chartered calls €500m of notes: redemption and payment dates confirmed

Standard Chartered announced on 7 September 2026 that it will fully redeem its €500m fixed-rate reset notes due 2027, identified by ISIN XS1693281617.

The timetable

The contractual redemption date is 3 October 2026. Payment will be made on 5 October, at the call-option redemption amount plus accrued unpaid interest.

Following redemption, the notes will be cancelled. Their FCA Official List entry and London Stock Exchange admission are expected to be cancelled on or shortly after 6 October.

What it means

This is an exercise of an existing redemption option, not a new earnings result. Noteholders should distinguish the contractual redemption date from the cash-payment date.

For equity holders, the announcement concerns the bank's financing structure. It does not disclose replacement funding terms, a quantified interest saving or a revised capital target, so those effects cannot be calculated from this notice alone.

The next relevant evidence is confirmation of redemption and any associated financing disclosure. Ordinary shareholders should not treat the €500m principal payment as an earnings expense or a distribution to common equity holders.
