Stryker completes ZuriMED acquisition to broaden its shoulder-repair offering
Stryker ($SYK) completed its acquisition of privately held ZuriMED, adding FiberLocker technology to its sports medicine business. The commercialized product is used to augment rotator cuff repair and is designed to increase the mechanical strength of the repair. Stryker said the acquisition expands the range of solutions it can offer surgeons treating shoulder injuries.
The purchase adds an existing product platform to Stryker’s shoulder portfolio and supports its effort to address more stages of sports medicine treatment. The companies did not disclose the purchase price, ZuriMED’s revenue or an expected earnings contribution, limiting assessment of the deal’s immediate financial scale. The announcement confirms that ownership has transferred; it does not report results from a new clinical trial or quantify an improvement in patient outcomes.
