Technip Energies secures exclusive licensing role for SABIC technology

Technip Energies ($TE-EURONEXT) reached a strategic licensing agreement with SABIC covering its Clean Tubular Reactor technology for low-density polyethylene production. Technip will become the exclusive global licensor, extending an engineering relationship that began in 1996 into a broader commercial technology role.

The arrangement combines SABIC’s reactor technology with Technip’s process design, engineering, fabrication and high-pressure project capabilities. It creates a route for offering the technology to customers developing polyethylene plants, rather than announcing the purchase of SABIC or a specific new construction contract. No license revenue, customer order value or near-term earnings contribution was quantified. The commercial opportunity depends on future customer projects and adoption of the licensed process, not solely on signing the collaboration.
