Technip Energies wins design and technology work for major Turkish complex
Technip Energies ($TE-EURONEXT) secured licensing and engineering contracts from Petkim, a SOCAR subsidiary, for a proposed petrochemical complex in Aliağa, Türkiye. The scope includes a mixed-feed ethylene-cracker license, process design and front-end engineering. The planned cracker would produce about 1.2 million tonnes of ethylene and 550,000 tonnes of propylene annually, alongside associated polyethylene and polypropylene plants.
The award was recorded in third-quarter orders across the Project Delivery and Technology, Products & Services businesses. It gives Technip Energies an early role in establishing the complex’s technical configuration, but financial terms were not disclosed. This is design and technology work ahead of Petkim’s final investment decision, not an award to construct the entire development. The stated production capacities describe the proposed customer facilities, rather than contracted revenue or operating capacity owned by Technip Energies.
