Teradyne launches Iris 100 microLED test system
Teradyne ($TER) introduced Iris 100, a production-ready test system for microLED devices that combines optical measurement with the electrical testing capabilities of its UltraFLEXplus platform. The system is designed to test large numbers of microscopic emitters at wafer and final-test stages, helping manufacturers assess performance and identify defects.
Potential applications include augmented-reality displays and optical links for AI infrastructure. The platform extends Teradyne’s photonics-testing capabilities rather than announcing another acquisition. A product launch does not establish a specific level of customer shipments or a guaranteed contribution to earnings. The company did not disclose a new order total or revise guidance in the announcement. Adoption will depend on manufacturers’ production requirements and qualification of the equipment in their processes.
