TriMas improves continuing earnings and agrees to sell Rapak

TriMas ($TRS) reported third-quarter 2026 sales of $178.7 million, up 7.7%. Operating profit improved to $11.5 million from a $3.2 million loss, while continuing-operations earnings were $0.37 per diluted share, compared with a $0.12 loss. Adjusted EPS increased to $0.50 from $0.17. Cost reductions helped profitability, while interest income on substantial cash holdings and a lower share count also supported per-share earnings.

The company signed an agreement to dispose of Rapak, its bag-in-box packaging business, with completion expected in November 2026. The sale was not reported as closed. TriMas also raised the bottom of its 2026 combined packaging and specialty-products sales-growth forecast to 4%, retaining a 6% upper limit. Manufacturing throughput and labor constraints in specialty products remain qualifications to the improved outlook.
