Vicor licenses vertical power-delivery patents to another AI hardware customer

Vicor ($VICR) granted a non-exclusive license covering vertical power delivery to a new AI equipment manufacturer. The license allows the unnamed customer to procure modules covered by Vicor patents from suppliers that do not themselves hold a license. The technology addresses the high-current, low-voltage power requirements of advanced AI computing and networking processors.

Vicor’s licensing model permits customers to use multiple sources, including Vicor-manufactured components. The company said buying its own modules can qualify licensees for discounts on royalties associated with other suppliers’ modules. The announcement does not identify the customer or disclose an upfront payment, royalty rate or revenue forecast. It is a new intellectual-property commercialization agreement, rather than confirmation of a particular hyperscaler contract or a quantified volume of future hardware sales.
