Vallourec wins tubular-supply contract for Energean’s Greek CO2 project
Vallourec ($VK) was selected by EnEarth, an Energean ($ENOG) subsidiary, to supply approximately 3,000 tonnes of casing pipes and accessories for the first phase of the Prinos carbon-storage project in Greece. The package includes materials and connections designed for the corrosion and integrity requirements of underground CO2 injection.
The project plans to use a depleted offshore oil reservoir and targets annual injection capacity of 2.8 million tonnes. That figure describes the storage project’s intended operating scale, not Vallourec’s product deliveries or recognized revenue. The contract value was not disclosed, and the award does not establish that future phases are also secured. For Energean, the update concerns procurement for its subsidiary’s project rather than confirmation that commercial carbon injection has begun.
