Tesco selects Vontier technology for its petrol-station network
Tesco ($TSCO-LSE) partnered with Vontier ($VNT) to improve automation and payments across a petrol-station network of more than 700 sites. The program combines Gilbarco Veeder-Root forecourt controllers with Invenco payment technology, connecting fuel dispensers, point-of-sale systems and operational data within a common architecture.
The planned configuration supports payments at the pump or kiosk and is intended to give operators better real-time visibility of forecourt activity. Vontier’s hardware and software are being positioned as a scalable platform for the network, but the companies did not disclose a contract value or expected earnings contribution. The announcement concerns a commercial technology relationship, not a purchase of Tesco’s petrol stations. TSCO here is Tesco on the London Stock Exchange, not US retailer Tractor Supply.
