Volkswagen cuts its margin outlook as Porsche-related charges mount

Volkswagen ($VOW3) reduced its expected operating margin to no more than 1%, down from 4–5.5%, as it faces roughly €10 billion of exceptional charges. The burden includes an approximately €6 billion impairment linked to Porsche, alongside restructuring provisions and pressure from China. Porsche Automobil Holding ($PAH3) also lowered its outlook.

Volkswagen now expects revenue of about €315 billion, compared with €321.9 billion in the previous year. Its revised forecast assumes tariffs remain unchanged and excludes potential future effects of the Middle East conflict. The update substantially lowers the earnings outlook, with both accounting charges and operating pressures contributing.
