Warner Bros. Discovery and Miral reveal three Harry Potter lands for Abu Dhabi
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Miral announced details of an Abu Dhabi theme-park expansion on 7 September 2026.
Development scope
The three Harry Potter lands are Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest, covering approximately 63,000 square metres at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Construction is targeted for completion in 2029. The project includes rides designed exclusively for this location.
The wider expansion, including two previously announced DC attractions, adds around 70,000 square metres and increases the park's size by more than 50%.
Commercial significance
The project extends the use of Warner's entertainment intellectual property into location-based experiences. That can create licensing and brand-engagement opportunities beyond film and television.
However, the announcement does not disclose Warner's funding contribution, ownership economics, royalty terms or expected revenue. Total project scale should not be treated as a quantified investment by WBD.
Next milestones
Construction progress, opening plans and the commercial arrangements will determine the eventual contribution. The 2029 construction target is not a guarantee of a specific opening date or profit outcome.
