AstraZeneca’s quarterly core earnings rise 19% at constant exchange rates
AstraZeneca ($AZN) reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $16.21 billion, up 7% both as reported and at constant exchange rates. Core earnings per share reached $2.79, an increase of 19% at constant rates, while reported EPS was $2.02. Nine-month revenue totaled $46.88 billion and core EPS reached $8.00, giving the company continued earnings growth despite pressure on several older medicines.
Over nine months, oncology revenue increased 16% at constant rates and rare-disease sales grew 11%. Those gains helped offset losses of exclusivity for Farxiga and Brilinta and procurement pressure in China. AstraZeneca retained its 2026 constant-currency outlook for mid-to-high single-digit revenue growth and low-double-digit core EPS growth. The forecast was reaffirmed rather than upgraded, and core EPS is an adjusted measure distinct from reported earnings.
