Google unveils Gemini 4 Argon with restricted initial access

Google ($GOOGL) announced Gemini 4 Argon, a new AI model designed for extended software-engineering, enterprise and cybersecurity tasks. Initial access is being provided to trusted cyber defenders through its Fairwind Program rather than to the general public. Google also announced introductory API pricing of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with higher standard rates to follow.

The model could strengthen Alphabet’s paid AI offerings and internal engineering tools, but a broad commercial rollout has not yet occurred. Google says it is collecting early-user feedback and strengthening safeguards before expanding access to developers, enterprises and consumers. Its reported performance gains and internal productivity examples are company claims, not independently verified financial benefits. Neither adoption levels nor incremental revenue from Argon were disclosed, and the announcement did not establish a firm public-release date.
