Structure reports up to 16.2% weight loss in extended obesity study

Structure Therapeutics ($GPCR) reported up to 16.2% average body-weight reduction at 72 weeks in an open-label extension study of aleniglipron, its experimental oral GLP-1 treatment. Participants in the highest-performing group had escalated to a 180 mg dose. The company said weight loss had not plateaued in the two highest original dose groups, while a lower starting dose improved tolerability among participants switching from placebo.

Structure also released early single-dose data for ACCG-2671, a separate oral amylin/calcitonin-receptor drug, showing an approximately six-day half-life that could support weekly dosing. Multiple-dose testing is underway. The two programs are at different development stages: aleniglipron is in Phase 3 development, while the amylin results remain exploratory. Neither announcement establishes regulatory approval or superiority over an approved competitor.
