PTC raises its revenue forecast as Sephience sales expand
PTC Therapeutics ($PTCT) raised its full-year 2026 revenue expectation to $1.29–$1.32 billion and increased product-sales guidance to $960–$990 million from $850–$950 million. Third-quarter 2026 product and royalty revenue reached $357.6 million, compared with $201.7 million a year earlier. Product sales more than doubled to $275.9 million, with Sephience contributing $181.9 million, a 20% increase from the preceding quarter.
The company recorded a $51.7 million net loss, reversing a $15.9 million profit. Results included a $111 million acquired research charge for the previously purchased ST-920 gene-therapy program, which explains part of the divergence between sales growth and earnings. Cash and investments totaled $2.13 billion. Management retained its operating-expense guidance, so the revised outlook chiefly reflects a stronger commercial revenue expectation rather than a new cost-cutting program.
